I wasn't able to find an existing post on this topic, but I'm looking for verified resources, more than anything.

A friend in Cape Verde/Cabo Verde would like to have us ship some chickens to her. Eggs are crazy expensive there right now. She's paying $1.25/egg. (You read that right, PER EGG!) I'd like to ship some grown chickens (layers and a possible roo) but don't know the laws regarding the import of live animals.

Does anyone have a resource for this information?

Contact your department of agriculture they regulate that and will give you the information you need to export. You will also need a live animal export broker preferably around new York. Also will need paperwork from a vet saying the animal is clear of any disease. Basically from you to the broker then to the destination. I know someone who has done it and that's basically what they said to me. By the time it arrives it'll probably be a pretty expensive trip. Good luck
