i am not sure what to do about this.
i went to the dentist last week..and i had some fillings done. well, it hurt really really bad but i figured that maybe it was normal..i talked to a few people on here who said it was..my husband also said that i would be ok and that it would subside eventually.
its gotten worse! now, the tooth on the bottom is completely useless now, as it hurts to put any pressure at all on it..the one in the back that never hurt in the first place had a chunk come off of it last night and it is hurting very bad too, and so is my jaw. needless to say, i am not going back to this place but i am wondering if i should just have these 2 back teeth pulled because the insurance i have will not pay for crowns or really deep fillings. the one on the bottom has a temporary filling but i just cant describe how bad it hurts.
monday im going elsewhere to see what on earth can be done now. i just wish i wouldnt have gone in the first place. its not like my teeth are bad either, or fragile, i dont know what is going on here.

I'd probably get them pulled if they are very very back teeth and wont show...
although getting my teeth pulled is my biggest fear...

BUT..my mom just got like 4 done at once and she was fine! ... didnt even need any after pain meds.
If your teeth hurt go back to the dentist... (or pick another one if you dont like the other one..)
You do NOT want a tooth infection... bad news and it can make you very very sick. I think thats why my mother got so sick a few months back... we're still not sure..but her teeth kept getting infected and she ended up in the ER with a bad infection in her body.. she had to have antibiotic I.V.s and everything.
Go get it taken care of hun... just tell them that you are fearful..and will need good pain management...

You may actually have an abscess starting in one of the teeth and the pain is from that. Even though it is a weekend, sometimes if you call and leave a message and the dentist will get back to you and prescribe an antibiotic to get you through the weekend. A quick x-ray when the office opens next week, might be your quickest way to find out what is going on. If the temporary filling is one of the teeth that you just had done, they sometimes do that so they can apply a product that has a clove like taste to it when they are close to the pulp in your tooth. It is my understanding that sometimes that product can help desensitize the root and allow for a regular filling to be put in later.

Sometimes a new filling is higher than the old, and can cause tremendous pain simply because it is forcing your bite off. This will cause pain in your entire jaw. Take yourself back to the dentist, and get it fixed. I think that pulling teeth should be a last resort. I once had to go back three times to get the level on a new filling adjusted. It caused intolerable pain, and headaches, just because it wasn't at the same level as the old filling.

I had 3 cavities filled and they hurt for months......If it was me I would take some tylenol and wait a couple more days. My cavities were to the nerve so I guess that is why they were so painful after being fixed....
I couldn't eat on the one side for a week.

well, i went to the ER today since there werent any dentists available..my tooth is all infected now! tomorrow i am going to a different dentist and im just going to have them pull the two teeth that are messed up...i dont know what to think about all of this..yes, i had a couple of cavities, but they didnt hurt really and now my face is all swollen on one side, most of the back part of one tooth is gone now..this just seems really wrong.

Dental problems during pregnancy are not uncommon...

Now that you are pregnant, you may be hoping that you can ditch those dental appointments, but you may want to think twice about skipping those appointments. Pregnancy is actually the time to take extra special care of your teeth and gums. During pregnancy, increased hormone levels can make your teeth and gums extra sensitive to bacteria, which could increase your risk of developing certain dental infections. more... http://www.pregnancy-info.net/dental_care.html

and a study has shown pregnancies linked to tooth loss.

Sorry you're going through this right now, hope your mouth feels better soon!

I'm sorry you're in so much pain...Pulling ought to be a last resort. If the tooth isnt too far gone it can be saved. Glad you're going to a different dentist!
