What do you do for Lock Down?

I'm locking down my incubator around 11:30am-12:00pm today any tips on what to do?
What do you do water wise? Do you fill up both troths? or use a sponge? or what?
What is a good humidity for lock down? Can it be too high?

I get my humidity where I want it, then its hands off until hatching is done.

As for the humidity, yes, there certainly can be too much. I incubate around 25-35% for the first 18 days, then bump the humidity to around 60-65% at lockdown. I just put enough water in the trough to get it where I want it, which usually isn't much because our relative humidity is pretty high this time of year.

I'll assume you have a hygrometer to check your humidity and have candles and the air cells looks good. If that's the case, just raise it to somewhere around 60% and wait for some action. You can just put the water in the troughs, or you can use a sponge, that's up to you.

my humidity went from 62 to 67 so i opened a window a little to help it. i'm thinking about going to close the window in the room.

It spiked to 72%!!! It's not going so well. I saw eggs rolling but no pips yet. i'm worried about the humidity spiking so high and then back down to 63 and rising.

i lowered the temp on the incubator just a little.
