Importing eggs from Europe

Feel free to PM me and I can give you information that you will need.

Like Katy said, one of the MOST important things you can do is make sure your breeder is reputable and on the up and up.

I'm going to make a suggestion that you probably aren't going to like but it's what I would have told my own kids when they were young or my grandkids now.

I know you haven't had chickens too long and haven't ever really bred chickens. Before you sink a lot of time and money into importing either eggs or birds you would be better off to get some nice birds from a breeder here in the US and learn the ins and outs of breeding them.....then some time in the future when you're older and have your own place you'll be ready to import some that you really want.

I was waiting for someone to say that. It just seems like a huge task for someone young.

Are your parents very involved with this?

my mom is the one who suggested i start a breeding program! she is ok about importing as long as i pay for it myself (easy peesy lemon squeesy, my parents own a conssesion stand and they make bunches of money! my parents want me to work there and they said they'll pay me)

i've been trying to tell my dad, but he is busy working on our car with my uncle

i think that is good advice, but mnay famous people starting things when they were young, most of the time younger than me! like Tiger Woods, he started playing golf when he was like, 4 or 5 years old!

i've studied chickens for 3 years and i know quite a bit about them (but much less compared to some of you people that has had chickens for decades!)
i think i may be able to handle it, either me or the other person i will work with will.

If you feel good about it, go for it. But the breeders working with you might be discouraged by your age. And don't tell them that you lick squirrels.

that was from this funny thread someone made on the G, J, F section! you take the month you were born on and the color shirt you are wearing and with the 2 parts of sentinces they give you according to that info, it makes a funny sentince! and thats what mine was

ya breeders most probably will, but Minesotachickenbreeder was ok with me being a minor when i thought up a breeding project that was similar to the one he was working on. but my eggs that i was incubating died, and i forgot about the breeding program.

but at first you don't succeed, try, try again!
