I have what I believe to be a peahen baby. Sure it is a peafowl just unsure of sex. The peafowl is approximately 6 weeks old looking for another around that age. Reguardless im looking for a friend for it. Preferably a male but ok with a hen. Im unsure of the species so if someone can enlightened me I would so happy. She is starting to get green feathers on her head and neck. I live in st.clair county alabama. This is my first bird but im so in love I can see it as a forever hobby. Thanks for any advice or direction as to where to purchase her a friend:)

more pics from different angles would help, but I'm leaning toward boy because of the green coloring on the head.

Im beyond confused. Im new to raising peafowl..... Half say its a boy other half a girl. Still unsure of the breed. Im aware of how to take care of the bird propery as it has doubled in size in the last couple weeks. Just clueless after that.Any advice would greatly be appreciated:/

At first you only posted the head after you posted the overall body we all could tell what you have, partial photos may get different answers

It looks like your pea is between 6 and 8 weeks of age in that photo, i assure you it is a hen and of the indian blue variety.

here is an example of hen and peacock at 33 days of age and again at 8 weeks

Notice how vivid the barring on the back of the male is compared to the female;
