in my city Ordinances they talk about dogs. i cant find chickens in it

am i looking in the right place. also in rhode island if you are going to buy chicks. you must buy at least 12.

Sometimes there's nothing in the codes at all about chickens. If you're absolutely sure that there's nothing against chickens, then get some. If in doubt, call your town hall and they'll be happy to explain.

The 12 chick minimum is so that people don't buy them for Easter gifts and them abandon them when they're not cute fuzzy chicks anymore. I'm pretty sure that this only applies to buying them from a feed store, though. Either split your purchase with somebody else or order from a hatchery like Mypetchicken.com, who let you order as little as 3 chicks at a time.
