HELLO everyone
Lats April we bought 2 ducks. One was already injured in her foot. We decided to give her a second chance and try to help her with her injury. However, sadly on July 21st she didn't make the surgery and didn't wake up from the anesthesia.
sooo sad ;(
Our second duck is devastated now and she keeps quacking away and looking for her buddy. We need to find her a friend. Does anyone know where we can buy a duck. Its off season now and its just so hard to find one. PLEASE let me know if anyone knows of a place.

Just an idea, while I agree your duck needs a duck friend, she might get by, temporarily, with a chicken friend, or two.

Hoping you can find a duck.

She does have 4 chickens with her and she acts like the big mama of all 4. Actually I think this duck is a boy and thinks he is the boss of the yard. Its so fun to watch them all. But he still keeps quacking and keeps coming in the house (with all 4 chickens the follow the duck everywhere) to look for her sister ;(

Try to find a thread specific to your locale. You might find someone nearby with a duck to spare. I would suggest, as you probably know, a duck of similar size, and probably a female if you think you have a Drake, in order to avoid problems with them getting along.

Thank you so much. Yeah I am pretty new to all this just got them all in April. They all are pretty close and stay together all the time its like a cute gang. But they definitely are missing the ONE. Do you think I should get a baby one or full grown one? I am afraid they wont accept the new comer.

You might want to post your questions on the "Duck thread" were they would give you better answers than I could. Don't know much about ducks at all. You could also post a photo of your surviving duck to be sure of gender.

I would think if your duck were a drake he would be trying to breed your chicken hens with devastating effects on them. Duck anatomy is very different than chickens.
