In Search of Chick Hatcheries

I've had very good experiences with Cackle and Murray MacMurray. When there's a 'sorting room/ shipping' mistake, both have been terrific about fixing the problem. I can't imagine how hectic the shipping area must be, sorting the right birds into the right box, by the thousands!
Both hatcheries have sent more than replacement birds when notified that there was an error, and I think that's more than fair. More chicks than planned, but basically free, too.
Where you shop will depend on what birds you are hoping to raise, how many, and what's available.
Closer to home is good, and picking up at the hatchery would be nice too.
Hatchery birds many not be SQ, but they may also be much better laying hens than birds selected only for SQ looks!
Weather matters! It's going to be better to avoid shipping in super cold weather, or very hot. Plan for that too.

I have ordered from MPC and Meyer hatchery. No issues no extras. Lol. I also got 5 female bantam chicks from MPC and they were all hens. They all arrived on time and did not loose a single one.
That’s awesome getting sexed bantams!
They’re hard to find.
Cackle offers 3 colors of bantam Cochin sexed and buff Brahmas but they want $10 per female. For bantams! :barnie

May I ask what breeds you got?
