In search of diagnosis for mild neurologic and respiratory symptoms

I have a 2 year old EE who frequently yawns/gasps, shakes her head, has a slight frothiness around her eyes (which she often scratches with her foot), and sometimes seems to move about in a slightly strange manner. By that I mean she sort of walks backwards a step or two, appears hesitant or confused, but then seems to snap out of it, and moves forward, foraging along, in a more or less normal manner. All of this has been going on for weeks, if not months.

She eats, drinks, and poops normally, and does not appear to be losing weight. I know she still lays at least a couple of eggs per week, but it's possible egg production has declined, I am not sure.

Any thoughts? The gasping and head shaking made me wonder about gapeworm, but from what I read, I think she would be sicker, and gapes would not account for the backward walking and strange hesitancy/confusion, anyway. What would cause both respiratory and neurologic symptoms, and have kind of a chronic, low grade or slowly progressing course?

And if you know what the problem is, what should I do about it?

Bump. Does anyone have any ideas? I would like to try to help this hen before it is too late.
