We had to bring our entire flock inside today, we lost a silkie hen to the heat and almost list our Sussex. Everyone is currently inside. How are you and your pets? Are you fire safe?

We are very fire safe. Nothing here to burn. Sorry for your losses, I thought about bringing my silkie inside, she seems to hake the most trouble with heat.

Yeah. All our chickens are in plastic tubs on the kitchen bench. Our dogs are sprawled on the floor

It's good you are home to look after them. I hate leaving my animals on a hot day. I put my "mister" on for the chooks. They all seem happy in the wet dirt now. The ducks are definitely easier, I only have to keep their pond out of the sun and they'll spend all day in it. As for the dogs, I've also given them a pool. And frozen treats. No way I could handle four working dogs inside

Gosh! 4! I can’t handle 2 let alone 4! The only reason we have our hens inside is the fact we have 45C here it’s only down to 43C now

All bar 1 are my husbands sheep dogs. The other is the chicken gaurd dog. And I've just realised I have more pics of eggs then Biscuits. Poor boy. The pic is 6months old (he's 6months in pic) but still shows his cuteness.

It's still about 37 here, a low of 33 overnight. Hopefully we are all under the right clouds this week and cop the big downpours.

It’s going to be another hot one today folks, stay cool and keep your animals cool. This morning we are buying a big enclosed play pen for our chickens to be brought inside
