MORAL OF THE STORY:
We may not be as smart as some city slickers, but we ain't as dumb as some government employees.

I'm not so sure about that. The warden tricked the guy into to put all the fish back and losing all the gain of a full days time and effort, without having to use up any of his own time and effort on paperwork, and saved the state and the courts the costs of prosecution. Pretty slick if you ask me.
