in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

We were flying over Mexico and saw one smoldering like this once.

I am more of a sharpie person myself. That is as long as I can commit.

SO! I am driving up to get my bee boxes tomorrow. They have these cool copper roofs that I can get.
I am thinking of painting it like this:

Unless it will be too hot. I assume they paint them white for a reason. I will ask the Dadant people tomorrow.

I love the way that is painted, however, with a working bee hive you sometime have to reverse boxes which means that the first floor of your house will be where the second floor is.

Any design you paint on them (and feel free to be creative) should be able to look good no matter what order the boxes are in. Also try to stay away from darker colors for the base color.

All of my hive boxes are a grayish green, my top feeders are yellow and nuc boxes are periwinkle blue. They all started out as "leftover" paint.

Well, I guess the "clueless Dad" isn't just a Western stereotype.

Seriously, though, it's amazing how many times I've been in a store or some other public place, and someone there had a baby in a stroller or a carrier in a cart, and the child was howling, and inside I've been screaming, "Will you please just pick that baby up?!!" Of course, I used a baby sling when I hauled my kids around, so I would think that way, wouldn't I?

Malibu, you are right. That was a great message. Loved it. Dads can do it. Dads can be involved with the newborns, and enjoy it!

Good to know! Thanks for that. I think I can make them interchangeable if I paint balconies /porches for the door ways. It is a ''southern hive" It might need an antebellum flair anyway.

Start with a pencil and a few cardboard boxes that are the same size. That way you can plan it out and see what it'll look like flipped around before actually painting on your hive box. ;)

That little house looks a lot like a lot of our old buildings here in Utah!

We are the beehive state BTW.
