Someone in the comments said they did it on wood floors. The video also shows them cover the sand bags around the concrete to so I dont think they meant that it only works on concrete, only that they needed to do the concrete first to have a floor to cover.
 
Sorry didn't watch the vid ( they take a while to load here) but my friend has done the paper bag floor thing in a number of her bedrooms, on the subfloor... That mdf stuff, works well, looks good and it's wearing very well.
 
Here's what I learned to drive in (same model, but not this exact one). Had a sunroof, which was quite a novelty at the time. The car itself is pretty easy to guess, but the trick question: what is the black hole between the grill and bumper?

Yes, and it came in handy with the below 0 degrees F Chicago winters. We used it several times to start the car. And, no broken arms, not even bruises.
