That x-ray is mine.

Had the surgery around 4 yrs. ago..and yes, there is gum in my mouth. lol... Took a long time to heal after that. But, I can turn my neck back and forth pretty good now. Woke up one morning with the worst pain in my upper back. I had to raise my arm to relieve the pain. Long story short, that was the tell tell sign of a blown disc, and boy, was it big, along with a couple of others..and it took me a while to get in for the surgery with who I wanted. Worth it. Did a great job. Not walking around with my arm up in the air, or holding it up, or on top of my head to relieve pain. Can remember when I woke up from surgery, I thought, my arm is down, and my hand isn't numb! Whew, what a relief, until I moved my head! lol..like I said, good now.

That's terrible, I'm glad you're okay now. There is no pain like that of the spine. I have sciatic nerve pain, that flares up every once in awhile. Gets to where sitting is agony.
