in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Down here, the roads are usually private. I was reared to respect private property.
We get the rainbow people in the National forest, they make a mess.

Our camp sites fill up about six months in advance, and you HAVE to do it through Reserve America.
It is an inexpensive way for the snow birds to retire to Florida, but they clog up the camp sites and leave nothing for locals. They can stay for about a month and then move to their next reserved site.
They usually have one big site so scouts can get a place. I think it is nice of them. They are usually no or low cost to troops.

I figure if the hippiedippydoos can camp free by parking in the forest, you should be able to also.
At least you won't be cutting down trees to make shelters.

Mud creek looks nice.
how is the fishing?

Florida is a bit of an odd duck So many people trying to find a place to stay has caused it though.

Most of the country is pretty relaxed on the "private property" thing especially around waterways. If you have a private road that you dont want people on you post a sign or put up a chain/gate. The water ways are public property. I would never cut a new road or new camp on anyones property, but if a well warn road to the water is there an its not marked in any way, its usually though of as OK to use.

Locals are great to ask. Ask anyone you meet. Pull over an talk to people working in their yards, anyone you see. People are usually happy to tell you where the good spots are.

Mud creek is actually public land but to get there you turn down a dirt trail right behind someones house. First time I went back there the guy was out working in his yard. The guy just waved an smiled as I drove threw his back yard. Fishing is pretty good.

The Appalachian Trail is a good place to see how relaxed people are about private land.

You'll need to come visit all of us, Reb! Like travel the whole US and whatnot.

I would like to do that. Spend about 2 weeks in every state, take about 2 years to do it. New York is a problem state though. Half the stuff I own is illegal in that state. I will have to rent storage for my stuff before going in to NY. Same with New Jersey, California an going in to Canada to go to Alaska. Same deal with Hawaii but cant drive there anyway...
