The rail system is rated at something like 26,000 pounds of trailer.
4 L shaped plates go under the bed an bolt to the top plates sandwiching the bed between them. Those bottom plates go down to the frame an ether bolt or weld to the trucks frame
The hitch I have in the picture is probably rated at about 16,000 pounds so it would break before the plates would come out.
I am only license to drive a single vehicle up to 26,000 pounds an a trailer that is 10,000 pounds or less. I would have to upgrade my license to get anywhere near the limits of that hitch.
Looking for a trailer in the 20 to 30 foot range. Trying to get it in the range where the total length when the trailer is hooked to the truck is about 40 feet. That is what will fit in two spaces in a standard parking lot without having to park sideways across multiple spaces. That should also keep me under my 10K pound trailer limit.
Look like a dream come true. You'd be a free bird. well, Okey more like a turtle, with your home on your back. But the freedom, to just head out on the road and see the country.
That is the plan. My grandmother is 87 now an once she is no longer here, I dont think I need this big house an acreage for just me. Figure I will get the trailer now for an office an to camp in an then later I can rent out the house an hit the road.
I need quiet office space anyway to record in. This house has to much foot traffic for me to get anything done.
Sounds like a pretty good plan. It's ways good to plan ahead. That way when life throws a curveball, you have a contingency plan. You said, record? are you a musician?
