Alligators, an are you sure you do not have them? NYC has more Alligator calls to handle than the whole state of Florida. Mainly cause Florida does not usually respond to calls about gators cause they are everywhere while in NYC they are illegal. They can also freeze solid an then thaw out later without being hurt. There is one in a pond up here. So they can live pretty much anywhere.

?? they can freeze solid ??? something like our garter snakes here then ? Never heard that about them ? might explain the whole fact about them surviving the ice age ?? going to read up on this , interesting indeed

I think they must not thaw in enough time for breeding season or the world would be buried in them.

say the people who don't have them. I am all for gator zoos and alligator shoes.)
Now woolly mammoths- how much damage can they do? Why didn't they survive?

When I was 15 my dad had a pet gator that he kept in the bathtub. It was about 6 to 7 feet long. Dad took off to Florida for a vacation. Me an my brother were told to go down every day an build a fire in the heater. Teens being teens, we didn't. The day before dad was to come home we drove down an found the gator in a frozen tub. We broke the ice an got the gator an put it on the heater. You could carry the gator around by the tail which had been running up the back of the tub. It did not change shape. Its body was still sticking strait out with its legs out to the side in a standing position. Anyway, we built a fire an waited. It took about an hour for the gators tail to thaw an lay flat. About 2 or 3 hours later we started seeing its toes move. Seeing that we grabbed it an threw it back in the tub again with more water. We then filled the heater up an went home. The gator was fine when dad got home.
