Oh yes Spencer's catalog and Lillian Vernon, and there was Current & Miles Kimball. We had to have Shredded wheat box tops to enter the "name Lassies puppy contest." I probably picked something original like "Brownie," I didn't win the puppy.

I hated shredded wheat it was like cardboard. My dad had to eat it. Also needed Franco American spaghetti-O's labels and hated that too. I got a transistor radio that looked just like a package of mac & cheese. I'd get to all the cereals with the prize inside before my sister & brother. It was MINE, all mine, snicker, snicker

Way back about 40 years Campbells tomato soup offered little soup bowls that said "Hmm Hmmm Good." free in exchange for a certain amount of labels. That was easy, my mother used to stock up on it every time it was on sale - she had a cabinet full of cans- I used to say in case of enemy attack we could live off the tomato soup . I eventually had 4 bowls but, one broke

. Still have 3 that I use often.

Glad products had a deal where you could get a pencil box, that was the same size and look of its "Glad sandwich bags," still have that too. And Oscar Mayer Weiner whistle.

I should take inventory and rent a safety deposit box at the bank to protect these treasures

Those where the good old days when you could really get nifty stuff. Oh and people used to save S & H green stamps. My mom always got something for them.

I still had one of these from my childhoods up until a few years ago. I think one of the kids walked of with it.

Ah cool! How awesomely neat.
I'd shake those kids down and get my spoon back.

Now everything that gets given away is cheap plastic and does not survive to hold onto.
My brother broke all the jelly and fast food glasses. Bama glasses were heavy and did not break easily, but he had a knack.

Wow, I can't remember half of those. But I do remember that the Shredded wheat needed a lot of sugar on it before it came out with the frosted shredded wheat.
And, I do remember the S&H stamps. Those were something that my mom really saved. I remember going to the S&H store to trade in the books. Why can't they do these fun things anymore?
I think you forgot something important here..speaking of prizes...Cracker Jack. It's still around!
