I hated shredded wheat it was like cardboard. My dad had to eat it. Also needed Franco American spaghetti-O's labels and hated that too. I got a transistor radio that looked just like a package of mac & cheese. I'd get to all the cereals with the prize inside before my sister & brother. It was MINE, all mine, snicker, snicker![]()
Way back about 40 years Campbells tomato soup offered little soup bowls that said "Hmm Hmmm Good." free in exchange for a certain amount of labels. That was easy, my mother used to stock up on it every time it was on sale - she had a cabinet full of cans- I used to say in case of enemy attack we could live off the tomato soup . I eventually had 4 bowls but, one broke. Still have 3 that I use often.
Glad products had a deal where you could get a pencil box, that was the same size and look of its "Glad sandwich bags," still have that too. And Oscar Mayer Weiner whistle.
I should take inventory and rent a safety deposit box at the bank to protect these treasuresThose where the good old days when you could really get nifty stuff. Oh and people used to save S & H green stamps. My mom always got something for them.
