Photos from Staglieno Cemetery in Genoa, Italy. The largest outdoor sculpture museum in Europe, it houses thousands of wonderful works of art. The city only has resources to maintain it as a working cemetery, not to preserve the art work. Pollution, moss and mildew, tree sap, dirt and acidic bird droppings are attacking the surface of the sculptures. I've set up a non-profit (American Friends of Italian Monumental Sculpture- AFIMS) that has been working with them for several years, helping restore some of the marble masterpieces. I love the chicken purse.

I got one for my friend years ago and she never used it. She said the zipper area was so small, she couldn't reach in to get anything. I told her I would return it and get her something else. No comment. She was THE Chicken Lady, she loved to have very "different" things so people would notice. I thought she would be over the moon to get it.
