these pics, all but the shirt are gorgeous.
 
I just found out the other day that people eat lionfish....
Down in the FL Keys, they have cook-off contest with lionfish and lionfish fishing tournaments. They've become a big problem down there so anything to encourage people to take them out of the water. I haven't tried them but I hear they are delicious, kind of tender and sweet.
 
I stick with foods big enough to at least be a mouth full an not poisonous...
Lionfish are venomous (can give you a painful sting), not poisonous (there are no naturally occurring harmful substances in lionfish meat). They grow to be more than a foot long - at least the size of a lot of freshwater panfish. As NFC said, there are programs aimed at getting people to do anything possible to reduce their numbers - and that definitely includes eating them.

Poisonous an venomous are the same thing to me when it comes to me eating it. I'm not. I have never seen one bigger than about 10 inches. Most were closer to 6. I'll stick with catfish.
