Cynthia sometimes puppies pick their own name by their behavior - maybe he wants to do that.

Cynthia, I have "googled" Golden Doodles and it seems like everyone is breeding them but, have to say most of their puppies just look like "kennel yard mixes." None of them are anywhere near as nice as your pup and the one that was pictured next to him. Were they local breeders? The ones in the Chicago area looked bad enough to turn me off entirely.

Tank needs to shape up and learn he is NOT alpha before he becomes an animal control prisoner. Large dogs like him can become very destructive to humans etc if left to their own devices.

he knows he is not alpha! we are going to fix him to calm him down! he likes to beat people with sticks

Some dogs do have a more strong personality. I used to rescue and foster..pretty sure I've mentioned that. Some are just more prone to be stinkers.
Some are more willing to please their master..this is where people will say..wow, your dog sure is smart. They are smart, some too smart for their own good!

he is a combo of both

! he thinks everything is a game but he is a good boy! everyone should watch out when he has a stick

especially long ones! he will want you to play with hims and swings his head and he will hit you! it hurts! but OMG at night they KEEP you awake!!!

Tank looks almost grown, it may be too late to alter (neuter) him and have the desired effect.
