Wow! That's a ripe old age. Could she outlive you? Some get to like 100 don't they?
Theoretically. The longest-lived Sulcata in captivity was 54, but researchers have found specimens in the wild as old as 80. We give them the best care we can and our environment is close (a little warmer and a bit drier) to their native sub-saharan Africa range, so they should stick around. The deal is that when we're gone, whichever kid has the largest yard takes them on. :)

Looks like he's going through an existential crisis :)

Amazing! Tortoises and turtles fascinate me. Maybe I'll get one one day..

A long time ago my brother in law found 3 maybe a foot long while duck hunting. He took them home and put them in a big aquarium. He had to release them soon after not realizing how fast they grew lol.
Aw. They're cute when they're little.
When they get nice and big you can just eat them, gator nuggest are my favorite :)

A good visual as how much water the levees hold back in New Orleans. The river is about 30 feet if not higher than the street on the other side. If you look close you can see the river is at the top of the levee between it and the trees. Spring time when all the melted snow makes its way down. People on the other side have no idea
