They're great pets, but I will caution you that you want to make sure you learn about what it takes to be a good tortoise keeper before you bring one home. Most of the pet trade breeds have some special needs as far as housing and diet goes, and you need to be prepared for their full size as an adult because they can grow fast. I would also encourage you to adopt if there is a rescue nearby, because a lot of people impulse buy babies and then ditch them when they get to be too large or too difficult to care for. This is especially true for sulcatas since they can get huge and do not make good apartment pets.
They're pretty easy to handle if well cared for and all 3 of our will come when called, and they like to hang out with their "herd".
