Is that a dragonfly? It's August. Dragonflies are hatching here. Reminds me of my husband. We used to say every year when we started seeing them..must be August. I saw several yesterday. They come out when it starts cooling down. Brought back memories of my sweet husband.
Good job!!Finally, I managed to cut down this tree. I was busy, then I was lazy, I was getting ready for more than a year and finally, having climbed up there with an ordinary hacksaw, I sawed it off and threw it down. It fell very successfully, without damaging or spoiling anything. The situation was not very simple - on one side there is a two-story garage of a neighbor, on the other - my greenhouse, on the third side - a barn, where geese hide in severe frost, and on the fourth side there are power lines. Wherever you throw this tree - it is very dangerous. But I managed to put it down very successfully.

The tree had been dry and dead for a long time, I should have removed it long ago. To climb higher, I had to raise the ladder so that the top was not so thick and heavy.

The main blow was on the ground, not the roof, and although this tree fell on the roof, it did not damage it at all. Tomorrow I will saw it into pieces, leave the log for building some kind of shed, and use the branches to light a barbecue, I just happen to have marinated chicken and onions in the fridge, which I want to grill on the coals.

Now my life has become much easier - the vertical log is now short and all I need is to cut it into pieces and carefully throw each piece down. True, I have not yet decided whether to cut it short or make pieces suitable for some kind of garden construction - a compost bin or a shed.
My problem was that I am very afraid of heights. That's why it took me so long to get ready ))
In my opinion, Coniferous tree wood is not ideal for smoke BBQing food. It is fine to burn in stove, and cook in a pot or pan.and use the branches to light a barbecue, I just happen to have marinated chicken and onions in the fridge, which I want to grill on the coals.

I'm not afraid of heights, or even falling. What troubles me is that sudden STOP at the bottom.Specially being afraid of heights.
