There is a similar story in the life of St. Sergius, the founder of the monastery (around 1337). Initially, there was nothing on the site of the monastery except some wastelands and impassable forest, but he settled there and built a small wooden church. And once a whole set of similar creatures appeared in the church itself, they admonished him that he had come to a bad place, the church should be torn down, and he himself should run away. True, Sergius was not one of the timid, he began to say prayers, the creatures could not stand them and ran away themselves. Gradually, it turned into a stone monastery with churches.
