In Moscow, the Chinese began to produce cars, settling in the closed old Soviet automobile plant "Moskvich".
Jokers began to write videos where the car's on-board computer speaks exclusively in Chinese. A Russian driver, in order to open a window, is forced to speak Chinese to the computer so that it turns on the electric window drive. :)

Ducks in the greenhouse and the house attached to the greenhouse. Today I laid down bedding for them. I didn't know what to come up with, so I scattered spruce branches with needles and poured dry autumn leaves from bags. When I run out of these leaves, I'll have to lay down hay or wood shavings-sawdust. For now we're making do with free branches and leaves.

We have many wildfires here. This is the one along the Hudson River, on the Palisades cliff. It was taken by a friend who lives in Riverdale, across the river in NY.
Heard about the fires in New Jersey. Such a shame. Hopefully they will be under control soon and some good rain will come to the area.

An unpleasant thing. Usually such a fire occurs if somewhere on the side of the road in the dry grass there is an empty bottle, which begins to work as a lens and in the bright sun sets the grass on fire. If the forest is dry and the weather is windy, such a fire will be extremely difficult to stop, almost impossible.
I remember some idiot went into the forest to pick mushrooms and threw a beer bottle in the forest. I was walking there with my goats later and picked it up. There are quite a few careless people here - I remember we put out a fire in one of his houses only because he had lit the fireplace properly... And then he left. He simply left the burning fireplace unattended and went to the city. When he returned, there was nothing left of the house, the firemen were pouring water on the remains of the house, and I was forced to stand nearby the whole time and throw snow at the neighboring house so that it wouldn't catch fire too. In order to do this, I broke down that neighbor's fence because I didn't know how to get in there (the neighbor wasn't home). I hate fires.

On this day one hundred and eleven years ago the bishop climbed to the top of the unfinished bell tower of Santa Cruz church in Tucson and rang its bells to announce to the city that WWI had come to an end.

Here is that church today. It’s the largest unstabilized adobe structure in the state that still exists as it was originally built.

There's also a creepy legend about it. A priest was out for a walk downtown. During his stroll he sensed that something was following him. He thought it was a large stray dog. As he approached the church the creature behind him drew closer and closer. The priest was very relieved to reach the church door. He put his hand out to the door and turned around slightly. He saw that his stalker was not a dog at all but a beastly, hellish thing with hooves and horns. When the priest’s hand touched the door the creature vanished.

There is a similar story in the life of St. Sergius, the founder of the monastery (around 1337). Initially, there was nothing on the site of the monastery except some wastelands and impassable forest, but he settled there and built a small wooden church. And once a whole set of similar creatures appeared in the church itself, they admonished him that he had come to a bad place, the church should be torn down, and he himself should run away. True, Sergius was not one of the timid, he began to say prayers, the creatures could not stand them and ran away themselves. Gradually, it turned into a stone monastery with churches. I happened to be there many times.
