I thought the same thing when I first saw it too. The chicken is laying on it's back with her butt in the air. All the fluff you are seeing is her under belly. If you look on either side of her head you can see her legs.
Yeah, I see here legs - and her foot next to the thing with an comb, a wattle, and eye and no beak?

LOL! She is "standing up" with her back to the back of that crate. Her head is between her legs, and she's tucked her beak into her belly feathers and was sleeping that way. I have no idea what she was thinking! She was broody at the time so who knows!
