Anyone care to tell me how the track got shifted but all the other strait lines in the picture are still strait?

Are there any legal people out there? I know this is the wrong place to post this but i consider you guys my friends!
i arrived at my holiday caravan to find that 2 new pairs of upvc steps have been fitted.
They have damaged my caravan fitting them and now i find that they should have been fitted to another caravan.
The company that fit them (i heard on the grapevine) are going to take them back when i go home.
Do i have any right to keep the steps. i haven't stolen them, i suppose in a way i have been given them.
possession 9/10ths of the law and all that....or is it just wishful thinking and i should kiss them goodbye when i leave?
