Today I said goodbye to my best friend of 13 years. Ginger Rose.

I am so sorry.
13 is a good age, but no matter how old they get it never seems long enough. You were blessed with her company, and she with yours.

I am painfully aware that it will be my responsibility in a week or two. I give my girl a lot more time and hugs. We are all saying a slow goodbye.
It made me sad to see this. I think I need to go give everybody a pup-eroni now, a treat toast to Ginger's passing.

Hate to hear that Heather. I remember your video of both your dogs playing tag in the yard. You could tell they meant a lot to you.

Thanks everyone. Yes, 13 is a good age, and she had a happy, healthy life. Only in the past few months did her legs start getting sore, which is surprising considering her breed and type (show type Aussie). Her passing was peaceful - the vet came to our house and I stayed with her til the end.

I see the picture and understand that was a good dog. Try to buy another one, because i am sure you will be a good owner for a next dog. In the past time i lose two big dogs - Fidzhi and Akesh (11 and 12 years). I buy a new one - Tiraz, and he are good too. The life of the dogs are shorter as the life of the people, this is very sadly, but normal. Your dog lived widh you a good and long (for a dog) life, but now it`s time... The world is beautiful, plese don`t be sad, look at the future and buy a new dog, be a good and happy owner again.
