Are they known for being a gentle giant..or are they known for being protective? As in..fiercely?

I think I've seen most of those huge dog photos as 'largest specimen of certain breeds,'not necessarily denoting all are Immense. These are just in the record books. Pasha could fill you in on the huge Russian breeds.

From what research I have done, which isn't much yet, they are not for crazy,social people. These are protectors primarily. Not for a family of social butterflies, they do NOT take kindly to strangers. Even the UPS man is an endangered species with this breed.

But...they are so dang gorgeous!
