I didn't believe it either, but wanted to know what kind of bird it was. Searched for green woodpecker and found an article about it. Man hiking in England heard a bird in distress, saw it and took quite a few pictures. The woodpecker landed and the weasel got off. Bird flew away! Chance of a lifetime for a hobby photographer. Guess they all could have been faked.

Ever since Jurassic Park movie, I am skeptical of photos/videos being altered. Makes it hard to believe anything.

Will be here before we know it. Then, with summer, we will be complaining about the heat. Then winter again, the complaining of the cold and wet. Then....again and again, until you are old like me.

You want sunshine, and flowers? I can give you sunshine and flowers. Well... Maybe not Physically... Buut. Its a hope for summer right? Very lovely pictures, Cynthia. I have a few of my own, too. (I apologize for so many, I just can't choose my favorites..) So yes, a warning now, this may be pic heavy.. Like. Very heavy..

Spotted Tiger lily with Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.

Wild Columbine

Pink Asiatic Lily.

Orange asiatic lily after we watered with the sprinkler. I just noticed last night the Grasshoper taking shelter.

Daisy

Sumac leaf unfurling.

two pictures of a baby muscovy duck in the green grass. (Who got photobombed by my Old English Game Bantam, Solomon.)

Wild Blueberries, growing up in Wabeno in the Chequamegon Nicolet national forest.

A Cinquefoil.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail full spread on a tomato plant. (I took this picture to fair and got a white ribbon, only because the rules in the fair book were very convoluted saying for this and this and this you need a matte, but for this and this and this you dont... This one apparently was in the "You dont need a matte" rules, and I got docked for putting a matte where it should have been on posterboard...

First and last year with photography, mainly because I just graduated from 4-H)

Another beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, this time on a bridal wreath outside our house.

Dandelion!

Asparagus. (If spring had a flavor, I'm telling you it would be ^^)

Male cones on our Blue Spruce tree. These little guys are the ones that produce and release the pollen. Soon after they do this, they wither and crumble. The female cones are what you most often think of when you think of a pine cone, that woody, hard structure is the female, seed bearing cone. The Male cones only live about 2 weeks to a month, until all the pollen is gone. (Can you tell I'm a Botany nerd? No wonder I'm in Urban forestry. Lol)

And this guy was kinda special. With summer comes snakes and other cold blooded creatures waking up, like frogs. A friend was over and she said the Cat has something alive. Here I figured it was a mouse or chipmunk. It was a Smooth Greensnake. We rescued him from the cat, Took a few pix, and let him go away from the cat.
