Our Zoo lost the last two elephants and popular outcry, kept them from getting more. Elephants are too smart and too family oriented to do well boxed up in a zoo. I saw a video on you tube once about a Elephant that gave birth and the baby looked stillborn. The mama went crazy, she was pushing it and turning it over and didn't give up. Finally the baby took a breath and mama relaxed. I was as anxious and upset as she was. It's incredible to me, that she knew what to do. I know with some puppies, I've had to rub their back against the grain(so to speak)until they protested with a big gulp and took in air.

I do have to say, I feel the same about the gorillas. Our zoo has several generations of one family. One female member Binti Jua even rescued a human child that fell into the outdoor pit. Because she was taught to bring things to her keeper, she gently delivered the child to him.

I agree with you on both accounts, drumstick diva. I've always had issues with zoo's, they're just so sad. But circuses are the worst. I will never go to one to endorse their cruelty.

Ringling Brother's has decided to stop using the elephant in the rings..this site has a video..which is great..I had no idea! But, read first, explains a couple of reasons why they are not using them any longer. Wish all of the circus' cared about their animals like this one!

Cold..love the horse and cottage. I have always loved horses, and the small cottages. I could live in one now I think..just a small little place will do, like the last one here.

I am totally sold on small housing .......and these unique small "Cottages" fit the bill perfectly I'd absolutely live in any of these .....gorgeous stone work .
