Hey, no death wish, just stupidity. Had my fast cars in the past..yes, that Pantera would get up there, I was quite stupid a couple of times..but only a couple, I promise. After the second stupid time, I thought, no more, don't need to go this fast. Young people, just don't think it could happen to them. We were all invincible at one time...remember rebel? Never did anything .. stupid unsafe? I know I did. In cars..and in life general.

I'm smart now. I know it all. lol..J/K, it's surprising the things that I'm still learning. I am a bit wiser in this old age though.
Now, when my DH is driving 5 miles over the limit, I'm asking..what's the hurry?!?

I got stopped by the cops once when I passed him going down a mountain road at 140+ with no tail lights. I had to stop an wait on him at the bottom... A few weeks later I wrapped that car around a truck.







I replaced it with a 1978 Firebird that I shoehorned a big block 500ci in to that had been bored .060 over an I had ported the heads by hand. Total 200+mph death machine. That one scared me an I got smart...

Oh my goodness rebel..you were a rebel! Love the white Friebird. I almost mentioned my 78 TA in my post. I think I have posted photos of me and that car..it was for sale at the time. Loved that car. 6.6 liter. Note the antenna! My handle was.. Lady Bug! LOL...

Your story of stopping for the cop reminds me of one my hubby has. He was driving a 1956 Chrysler..doing around 105, left town, didn't notice a cop behind him for a while. Looked in the mirror saw the red lights waaaay back there, and slowed down anyway! Pulled over. The cop said, I'm sure glad you stopped because I would not have caught you. He was leaving one little town going into the next. Hubby's dad was in the Sherrif's Patrol at the time..cop knew him. He did get a ticket though..for doing 60 in a 50.

He did give him a bit of a speel..asked, what would you have done if a cow had stepped out in front of you. Hubby says he wasn't even thinking about anything like that happening. Of course not. :/

<---- My CB handle was (is) Rebel Cowboy. Car was actual sky blue but does look white in that photo. It had the same honeycomb wheels as yours in the same blue. 8.3 liter V8. The holes in the hood were to clear the engine so the hood would close.
