Awwww Do hedgehogs make good pets?

Well, clearly I'm biased, but I tend to think so. They are VERY antisocial so you have to work with them to coax them out of their defensive little shell, but they can be great companions. Care-wise, they're on par with a guinea pig or hamster. Cage changes weekly, bathing monthly, a wheel and some toys, a hide, and love. He's definitely my spirit animal, grumpy and spikey.

They swim. I put him in the tub with lukewarm water and just fill it enough to cover him tot he point where he can touch or float depending on what he wants to do. Oatmeal shampoo (we live in a dry climate) and i use a soft bristle toothbrush to clean quills and feet. Then a warm towel until he dries off.

Yes. As long as you do your homework and understand what you're getting into, I think they make great pets.
