Frank knows EVERYONE both human and canine there Diva. He's a social butterfly. I honestly think he would be great to visit kids at a hospital as a therapy dog. He's so loving and sweet.
 
Monarch caterpillar - haven't seen one in ages. When we moved in many years ago, loads of Monarchs used to rest/hang out on a tree at end of drive way. I suppose on their way to Mexico. Then each year we'd get less and less and now if we see one at all it is a major event.:(

That's truly sad.
 
YES it is. Not only that Brookfield Zoo has a protected outdoor area where you can enter and see many types of butterfly for a fee. Reminds me of that old song "Big Yellow Taxi," where they round up all the trees and put them in a tree museum." Pave paradise and put up a parking lot." Then people wonder about all the flooding.

South end of my block is Forest Preserve - lately they(?) have cut back the trees that were close to the road- so there is at least a 6 ft. setback. Hope they aren't planning to widen the street.

Well at least a handful of monarchs are leaving here soon. Iv'e only got 3 that haven't formed their chrysalis yet.:)
