Initially, I was going to only milk them, but when there were a lot of them, I began to eat some. They also give good fertilizer for the garden - in the spring I remove all manure from the barn. In general, I wanted to keep 2 goats (girls) and a goat (boy), but I bought 4 goats and a goat (boy), and then they began to breed. While this is not a problem, the stable is large, and in the summer the grass is free, well, and then I can sell the excess, or eat it.
I use milk for cooking cocoa, for cottage cheese, we also separate the cream, which in the future I plan to use for butter and ice cream. But so far I don’t have much milk to make butter. I think to begin this work in the next year, when next goats (young) will be adult and will give a milk.
