Last year we lost my cousin to cancer. We were unable to gather at the time due to covid, and so plans were made to celebrate her life this year when it was safer for us to gather as a family.
Fast forward to the last 10 days, and I've been driving my folks across the country to visit my last remaining Grandmother (who is 103) and then head on into NE for the memorial celebration. My Grandpa (her husband) passed when my Dad was 10, so I never got to meet him. While we were in NE we went over to the cemetery and I got the chance to meet him for the first time. While we were there, this young deer wandered over, watched us for a few minutes, and then wandered off back into the trees edging the cemetery. Was a very surreal moment.
