A what? Are you asking if the dirt(and rock) pile is a form of composting?

Uhhh no. Not at all. I have 3 separate pictures that I had posted in 3 different threads in my early years here that show the evolution of this “pile of dirt & rocks.”

1st is on Dec. 14, 2019 & post #6 in our coop & run build thread - the link is below my avatar.

2nd is on February 13, 2020 & is post #45,409 in the Texas Thread:

3rd is on February 15, 2020 & is post #45,229 in the Michigan thread:

I plan to relocate all the rocks & dirt to level out behind the coop before winter this year. I have a simple design. Used the stone to create a short wall in “L shape” & fill in to bring the slope to a level area. I’ve drawn this out in my head several times over the last 3-4 years. Once this is done, the 2 actual compost bins will get moved to the location of this pile. It just seems logical to be for this to progress this way.

The chickens loved this.
Those grubs are Japanese Beetle grubs. Both the grub form and the adult form are very destructive. Thank you for helping to get rid of these pests!

BTW... It is almost the JB time of year. I collect them and feed them to the chickens. They love them, and I love that they love them! I think they ate over 1000 last year.
