Dogwoods. Tried growing in my backyard, a while ago. Just would not thrive for me. Other flowering trees, did make it and are tall and grown now. I'm in a cooler zone than you are.Is that pix from one of your Dogwoods??
Sometimes nurseries sell stock not really intended for the zone,,,, but who is to stop that. I tried growing peaches. They must have been a warm climate variety, like Georgia peaches. Did not live, and produce long,,,, before trees died. I know there are suited varieties for my area. Southern Michigan, and Northern Indiana,, are filled with peach orchards,, as well as other fruit orchards. I'm in same weather zone.
Not my pet,,,,, but this guy is BEAUTIFUL
They're bigger than you realize. Pretty cool. I need this guy in my yard.
