in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Phaelenopsis, one of the easiest to rebloom.
I don't know...this almost Never stops & when it does, it's just a brief rest. My Mom gave it to me 1986. African Violet ❤️

Same problem more or less all up and down the east coast. The mountain ranges there are all low, because they're a lot older than the western US ranges. More weathering over time has worn them down. Still the issue of light pollution too.

I guess that leaves out the ozarks. Too bad. The ozarks of Arkansas are very beautiful, and there are underground springs, and land is relatively cheap there. The land around Leaky (pronounced Lakey) Texas is beautiful. There are areas with water. It's pretty secluded too.

I'm in the Ozarks and it's super cheap. Lots of water, but it's just hills. No mountains. I love it here. You can go days without seeing people in the right place.

True that. I've gone almost 12 years without seeing people except when I go to town ... and then my dear SIL decided to build a house practically in my back yard. :duc

You've got me interested! Peace, quiet, less people, more nature, great water, no pollution, more sunny days than cold rainy ones, minimal tornadoes, low cost of living? Sounds great. But...1 question...could a good contractor make a living within an hour's drive? Unfortunately, that's why I'm stuck where I'm at presently, gotta put up with the PITA people because They're the ones that want the work done & have the money to pay for the work. I wish I could live off grid & eat like Euell Gibbons, but It's hard to shake the formative years & habits of growing up in suburbia, relying on the grid.

It's not an orchid though.
True. I didn't have the best luck with Orchids, they were ok for about a year then checked out. I suspect my old house just didn't get the proper light. Plus with the high ceilings all the heat was up at the ceiling, I hated that house, was always freezing my butt off!

I think, in my humble opinion (and opinions are like derrières - everyone has one), scary Halloween displays and props are targeted at children to desensitize them to evil influences.
Video games are still the worse, followed by movies & TV in general...yup, just another opinion here, too. But seriously...it shouldn't be so difficult trying to find a darn movie to watch without blood, guts & gore. Who decided that was entertaining anyway? 👎 Haven't we supposedly progressed since gladiator days? Guess not.
