It is! I was hoping my local leaves would get busy, but these pics are not local. I had to search other places to find these beauties. Really do need the right combination of weather, temperatures, shorter days & types of trees. Some places got it, some don't.

I’m from New Hampshire, now living in upstate NY. My mom, now in SC, misses the changing leaves. I get it!

Absolutely, 1st thing upon waking up, when your eyes pop open & you Can See...gotta be grateful

99% of our leaves are gone. We live on top of a very windy hill.

We just had a lot of wind overnight & just like that...today most trees are bare. At least we can see the hawks camped in the trees better now.

A big Hawk visits daily, (among others). I chase her off of my pigeon pens & she flies into the trees.


She blends right in with leaves & the barring feather pattern in her tail mimics the seed pods of Mimosa trees.


Well this morning, with hardly any leaves now, I pointed right at her & said, "I see you!"

She immediately straightened up, had a long neck & quizzical expression, tilted her head looking at me, like "Nah, you really can see me?"

I walked towards her looking right at her & pointed again, "I said I'm looking right at you!"

Her eyes got real wide
Then she flew off.
I never laughed so hard wish I'd have video'd that one.
