Wow, that's super cheap! I.sell baby goats for $200 to $300 each.
It was not a farm but a summer holiday village. Its inhabitants bought the goats rather as a toy, but then these goats began to multiply rapidly, and the land of the owners was very small. And they had to quickly sell extra goats just to someone, quickly and cheaply.
And I went there by train, and I sold my car a long time ago.
I arrived intending to buy two goats, but they offered to take five, and the owner put me in his car and drove me with these goats to my house. Since then, these goats have been living with me. And this owner, as I understand it, kept only two or three goats.
At first my parents said that it was very difficult, because we also planned to keep about 2 goats, but I decided that there was no difference - it didn’t matter if it was two goats or thirty - anyway, I would have to go and graze them. Grass grows for free - well, it makes no difference whether there are many goats or few. The only difference is that I get tired of milking them, so I took the lazy path - I don’t take the kids from their mothers and don’t resettle them anywhere, but they live with their mothers, and they feed them. While the kids are drinking milk, I hardly have to milk the goats.
I don't sell milk, so I don't need a lot. I just put three-liter jars in two refrigerators and we use them for various kitchen chores.
This breed of goat is considered cheap and simple, their lactation period is approximately 6 months. What exactly this breed is good for - they are very unpretentious and ideal for local feed and climate. There are other, expensive breeds brought from abroad - but here they do not always like it. They may be cold, and they may not like the local grass or twigs.
Although for the winter, of course, I have to buy a lot of hay. I can't cut that much hay. Well, or I can, but then I have to quit any job and only mow hay and do nothing else.
