I grew up driving manual transmissions, I now drive automatics. I STILL grab for the gear shift or feel for the clutch on the floor, just can't stop the automatic reflexes.

I used to drive stick, loved it. We were looking at a particular car we wanted to buy, asked if it came manual..nope. We bought it. Man that car had power though! The Intrepid. Loved it. This is the color..can't really tell in the photo. It was Opal.

I was thinking like an eaton. 10 gates, hi/lo, and split. 18 gears.

I'm 63 years young. This photo was taken after a short, very steep climb on Mt. Mitchell at Easter. I call myself the old chick because I was the oldest employee at the last vet clinic I worked at. A client used to call me the old chick all the time.

It is a physically tough job. I know several veterinary technicians who have thyroid disease that devastated them.

Nope, never had to shift the tailstock while driving a tractor; never went out on the highway.
