I remember there was a time when I really hated winter, it was when I had to go to work by bus, and I had to walk 7 kilometers through the snow to get to the bus. My shoes were constantly getting wet and it irritated me. In addition, the village had old electrical substations with noticeably limited power capabilities, and the city dwellers who came on vacation did not take this into account at all. They simply came, turned on the electric heating, gave the electrical network too much load and the electricity disappeared, and then we sat without electricity for two weeks or more.
And there was plenty of free firewood all around, there was a gas station with gas cylinders nearby - but they stubbornly used only electricity for cooking and heating. They would come, turn it on, and then quickly pack up and go back to the city, and then you would sit without electricity. It was terribly annoying.
Over the years it became easier, I got several generators of different power, in addition, the village was supplied with main gas, and the electric substations were replaced with new ones, as well as part of the electric grid. After that, I stopped hating winter, now it is my favorite time of rest when I can sleep a lot, read, and play on the computer.
