We went to see a band called Furthur. Furthur is a rock band founded in 2009 by former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh. The band's lineup also includes John Kadlecik of the Dark Star Orchestra on guitar, Jeff Chimenti of RatDog on keyboards, Jay Lane of RatDog on drums, and Joe Russo of the Benevento/Russo Duo on drums.

the coliseum is all red now because it is it's 40th year.

yah...I remember the days when the Hampton Coliseum was a regular stop on the Grateful Dead tour circuit. Lots of great shows there over the years, any you used to have to dodge hippies in tophats on 64 during evening rush hour when the Dead were in town...

I cut my concert teeth at Cleveland Public Hall back in the 60's and 70's. Five bucks on a Friday night for three live bands...Sha Na Na and J. Geils Band opening for Humble Pie. Three Dog Night, Iggy Pop and Gentle Giant. Ravi Shankar with John McLauglin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, opening for Frank Zappa and the Mothers...(now THAT was a show!!)

I saw J.Geils live so many times I still know most of their songs by heart. Those were the days of WMMS FM in Cleveland, (the home of the Buzzard...) with Joyce and Billy Bass...that's where I heard the Door's "Riders on the Storm" for the first time...around midnight one night on the radio. It was also the days of CKLW AM in the Motor City. About a million watts of Motown around the clock!!

The single best concert I ever attended, was 1974, the Cow Palace in Daly City CA, Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon tour. Welded into my memory as the concert of a lifetime. I'm 55 now and I STILL remember that one!

The second best concert ever was Lynyrd Skynyrd's first show on the West Coast, when they opened for Marshall Tucker at the Winterland West in San Francisco...what a show! We didn't even stay for Marshall Tucker after three LS encores...
