In your opinion, what is the best brand of incubator?

OK, I ask what's a C-PAP machine?

Definitions of CPAP machine on the Web:

Positive airway pressure (PAP) is a method of respiratory ventilation used primarily in the treatment of sleep apnea, for which it was first developed. CPAP means Continuous PAP.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPAP_machine

I only know it for my area of the medical field - it is used to keep the airway open by providing constant positive pressure by way of a machine that constantly pushes air into the airway.

Hmmmm....does that make sense?

Hi,
My point ... if you are going to use acronyms then include the noun nomenclature defining the purpose. 99.9% of us do not have a C-PAP machine lying around to construct an incubator nor a pitot tube.
Thanks for the definition.

A pitot (pronounced /ˈpiːtoʊ/) tube is a pressure measurement instrument used to measure fluid flow velocity.

Well, with two Brinsea MiniAdvance units, two Brinsea MiniAdvance EX units, three Brinsea Octagon20 Advance EX units, and a little R-Com Mini, I think it would safe to say my vote is for Brinsea.

Sorry for the sideways view, but this photo is of the table where I have set up my 3 Octagon20s and 2 MiniAdvances.

And the other MiniAdvances are in the bookcase (with the R-Com Mini on the shelf above 'em).

Here's the little R-Com Mini in the bookcase by itself.

And right now, I have a zipped egg and a pipped egg amongst 16 other eggs on day 1-plus of lockdown in one of the Octagon20s!

Joe your right I should have clarified better.. I was amused at my creation without thinking... A C-Pap is what people use to treat sleep apnea. When they stop breathing and snore really loud. The c-pap keeps blowing air into them to keep them breathing. My husband recieved a new machine from the VA, and we couldn't even find a place to donate one. So I set this thing up and couldn't figure out how to ventilate it without having to buy something new... This also has humidity that I can add to the air..My only issue is trying to figure out exactly how much air flow is in most air forced incubators.. But here is what it looks like

I have no idea how this will work out. We will see by November 15th LOL...Sorry about not being more specific Joe..

A.T. Hagan :

For small numbers of eggs (40 or less) I'd suggest one of the Brinseas. For larger numbers of eggs I'd go with a Dickey cabinet incubator. Neither is cheap.

My vote is:

Above is the best answer.

The brand of incubator will not make any differance in your hatch rate if you do not use it properly. I have seen people have a zero hatch rate with some of the best bators and others have a 90% plus hatch rate with el cheapo bator. The whole trick to hacthing is learning to use the bator you have. If you do not, your hatch rate will be low.

the learning curve is probably a little shorter using the high end models but I have had a bunch of 100% hatches this past summer in cheap ( $10-25) homemade bators
