Hi there,
I am just curious about this:

Is there a possibility that if a line is inbred for more than 4 generations antibiotic resistance can occur for specific antibiotics that were used in that line?

Thank you for any responses :)

Antibiotic resistance will be in the bacteria assemblage living in the chickens. If the birds are chronically exposed to the antibiotic, it may not take 4 generations for antibiotic to develop. That is one of the reasons for using antibiotics sparingly for short periods of time with specific dosages.

If the question pertains to the birds themselves, then more time may be required unless mutation needed is already in the founding stock.

Overall, it is not an experiment that is likely to benefit anyone except surviving bacteria that want to infect other host where the antibiotic used in your effort is normally used to save lives.
