I am getting started with raising quail for both eggs and meat. What concern, if any, should I have with inbreeding and the need for new blood in this cycle?

From what I understand, you can inbreed for three to five generations without problem. If you are going to inbreed, breed parent to offspring rather than siblings.

If you have the space, spiral breeding is better and can continue for a very long time. You need at least 3 pens and you rotate a male from pen 1 to pen 2, from pen 2 to pen 3, from pen 3 back to pen 1 and do this every couple of generations.
