We did the egg math, and realized 4 hens might not be enough. My husband said the words, "we might need to get two more," and less than 24 hours later we were on the way home with Phoebe, a white Rock, and Lydia, a barred Rock, both from the 6-8 week bins (the Original 4 are 8 weeks tomorrow)

We integrated them immediately (would be happy to share our reasons for doing so-please don't attack us for not quarantining), and they are doing well. Phoebe seems to be a pecker... We'll see how it all turns out as they grow up. The O-4 are tentative, and the New 2 are excited about eating as much dirt as they can.
