Inconsistent temp readings!!!

I've noticed around here that we have people who actually know what they are talking about and people who think or pretend they do.
Everyone gets so caught up in the hubbub of who's right, and who's wrong. But we all forget that every situation is different and within every situation are endless variables which we don't and can't control and nor can we always know about them.

In the case of incubation temperature and humidity, they can very immensely because of environment alone. We don't all live in the same house. We don't all have the same climate. We also don't all use the exact same products. Some products have to be calibrated or used differently or are meant to be used in different area (outside instead of an incubator). So if we are going to offer our advice here, we should probably all stop to consider everything.

Like where is the OP? What product are they using? What is the intended use of said product? How does said product measure temp or humidity?

Just my two cents.

You have wisdom beyond most of the self proclaimed forum experts.

I am located in NE Ohio. It is about 70 here the past few days. Our house is kept at 70, the bator is in the basement where it is about 65. I have a farm inovations forced air. I didn’t calibrate any of the thermometers as they are the box kind (I think I posted a pic hope everyone can see) how would I calibrate that kind since the probe is internal? Thanks :)

Do you know the brand of the thermometers?

@aart Can you link your article here please.

. So yes its calibrated for 32 and 212 but what about 99.5.
Exactly!
....and just for some trivia the boiling point of water is different depending on elevation, 212°F is at sea level.

When I found two that read within a tenth of a degree of what my abnormal but normal for me body temp, I paid for them.
How many did you have to 'test'?
For 10 bucks you also could have bought a human medical thermometer(tight tolerances listed right n package) to test all your other therms against. Our own body temps can vary, but probably got you closer than ice and fire.
